The Changing Seasons of Muskoka

Spring blooms
Summer forests
Leaves in Autumn
Winter in Muskoka
Ice-out (April 1 to mid-May)

Our best kept secret - the sap's running, the waterfalls (dozens of them) are churning, the forest floor is carpeted in wildflowers, and there are no bugs!

The Itchies (two weeks in mid-May)

Black fly season. Stay indoors, in town, or on the water, but for the outdoors, bring a bugshirt or borrow one from your hosts.

Summer

Verdant forests, quiet lakes, loon songs, nature trails, summer theater and music festivals, fine craft & antique shows, wonderful dining, and our welcoming B&B's. Summer in Muskoka. There's nothing like it.

Fall ("the glory" : September - October)

With the forest a multi-coloured canvas, the fall is the most beautiful time of year in Muskoka. Take in Ontario's finest autumn studio tour, a scenic drive, the Bala Cranberry Festival, and nature at her finest.

The White (the rest of the year)

Remember when winter was crisp and bright, and the snow crunched under your feet like peanut brittle? It's still like that in Muskoka. Come for the skiing, or just a relaxing break from the grind. There's often a hot chocolate and cheery fire waiting.
